Japan harvestingYesterday we have taken the bullet train from Nagaoke to Hiroshima. This was a very long journey that have taken 6,5 hours in the train. Halfway we have stepped out in Kyoto to see the Ninjo castle that have a beautiful pond. So when we have arrived Hiroshima we have taken a bus to Hirsohima Airport hotel where had dinner with Danny and Mie from Danny's Koi Cafe. The first subject was from my friend that had a koi by Sakai for two years and he was very nervous how his lady would look like. I can tell you now he had a restless night. But today we have seen his stunning 75 cm Kohaku and was in preparation for the coming ZNA show.

I can tell you now his day could not go wrong anymore and he was showing big smiles on his face. But Danny was telling me about his Gin-rin Kohaku that had red lips and I need to say she was beautiful. For me it was the first time at Sakai and had for many hours not much to say because their was so much beauty swimming around. In the end you struggle to find that special koi. But their was a harvest coming in of two year old koi. The organization and handling was going so well with all of us around so that we did not miss anything. But a stunning 2 year 65 cm showa was coming in from the harvest that would take my breath away. But the highlight of the day was a stunning 69 cm 2 year sanke. And kentaro was telling us in the evening that see was the best one in years. I need to say i was very impressed that you can make a two year koi at that length. Sakai farm was for me a big surprise. They are very friendly and you where even allowed to bowl some koi. Tomorrow we have been invited to help harvesting his 4 year old koi mud ponds and this would be very exciting for us. Bye the way they have 90 mud ponds and can harvest three a day. So it will become a exciting day tomorrow. If you like to see some more pictures you can go www.dannyskoicafe.com and the farm website is www.sakai-ff.com/index_e.html
